Those spending extended time in endemic areas, especially during rainy season. Previous dengue infection increases risk of severe disease.

Vaccine Schedule & Administration

  • Two-dose series: Given 3 months apart.
  • Efficacy: Varies by serotype and prior exposure history.
  • Best taken: Complete series before travel to endemic areas.

Common side effects:

Headache, muscle pain, mild fever (1-3 days).

Who cannot have the vaccine?

  • Those without previous dengue infection (in some countries).
  • Immunocompromised individuals or pregnant women.
